Refund & Returns Policy – Fit Engines

At Fit Engines, we aim to ensure that every customer is satisfied with their purchase of a used engine or gearbox. Due to the nature of automotive components, our Return and Refund Policy is structured to remain fair, transparent, and compliant with South African consumer protection guidelines.

Returns

Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return:

• The return request must be made within 7 days of delivery.
• The engine or gearbox must not have been installed, dismantled, modified, or tampered with.
• The unit must be returned in the same condition as supplied.
• All original seals, markings, and identification tags must remain intact.

Because we sell used engines and gearboxes, returns will not be accepted if:

• The unit has been fitted or partially installed.
• Parts have been removed, swapped, or altered.
• Damage occurred due to improper installation.
• The incorrect unit was ordered by the customer despite correct information being supplied.

Please ensure compatibility is confirmed before purchase.

How to Request a Return

To initiate a return:

1. Email info@fitengines.co.za
2. Provide your invoice number, engine or gearbox details, and the reason for return.
3. Include clear photographs if the item is damaged or incorrect.

Returns sent without prior approval will not be accepted.

If approved, you will receive return instructions.

Return Shipping

• Customers are responsible for all return shipping or freight costs unless the item supplied was incorrect or defective.
• Engines and gearboxes must be returned via approved freight handling.
• We recommend using insured and trackable freight services.

Fit Engines is not responsible for returned items that are lost or damaged in transit.

Refund Details

Return Request Period: Within 7 days of delivery
Inspection Period: 3–5 business days after the unit is received
Refund Processing Time: Up to 10 business days after approval
Currency: ZAR (South African Rand)

Once the returned engine or gearbox is received and inspected:

• You will be notified via email whether the refund is approved or rejected.
• If approved, the refund will be processed to the original method of payment.
• Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to reflect the funds.

Restocking Fee

Approved returns may be subject to a reasonable handling or restocking fee, particularly for special-order or sourced units.

Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Non-Refundable Situations

The following are not eligible for refunds:

• Units that have been installed or tampered with
• Damage caused by incorrect installation
• Electrical components supplied with engines
• Labour or installation costs
• Shipping and freight charges (unless due to incorrect supply)
• Special-order or specifically sourced units

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be granted if:

• The returned unit is not in its original supplied condition
• Parts are missing
• Damage occurred after delivery
• Seals or identification markings have been removed

Exchanges

We only replace engines or gearboxes if:

• The incorrect unit was supplied by Fit Engines
• The unit is proven defective prior to installation

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

1. Check your bank account again.
2. Contact your bank or card provider, as processing times may vary.

Important Notice

Used engines and gearboxes are mechanical components and must be installed by qualified professionals. Fit Engines is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, overheating, lack of lubrication, or failure to replace required service parts during installation.

We strongly recommend that customers verify engine codes, gearbox codes, and compatibility before purchase to avoid disputes.
