Fit Engines – Confidence in Every Part We Supply

At Fit Engines, we take pride in providing high-quality engines, gearboxes, and auto parts that meet rigorous performance and durability standards. Each product we sell is carefully inspected and tested to ensure reliability. This Warranty Policy outlines your rights and our responsibilities under the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa (CPA).

1. Warranty Coverage

All engines, gearboxes, and major mechanical components supplied by Fit Engines are sold with a limited warranty against manufacturing or material defects.

  • The warranty period typically ranges from 30 to 90 days from the date of purchase, depending on the product type and condition (used, reconditioned, or new).
  • Warranty coverage applies to the engine or gearbox unit only and does not include labour, towing, oil, filters, or other incidental costs.

2. What the Warranty Covers

This warranty covers:

  • Defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Major internal mechanical failures directly related to manufacturing faults.
  • Incorrect items supplied (if verified before installation).

3. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation, improper handling, or negligence.
  • Failure due to overheating, oil starvation, or contamination.
  • Use of the product for racing, modification, or non-standard applications.
  • Damage caused by accidents or external impact.
  • Normal wear and tear of consumable components.
  • Labour, fluids, gaskets, or accessories replaced during installation.

4. Installation Requirements

To maintain warranty validity, engines and gearboxes must be:

  • Installed by a qualified and licensed mechanic or workshop.
  • Fitted with new oil, filters, coolant, and gaskets during installation.
  • Properly aligned and connected according to manufacturer specifications.

A valid installation invoice from the mechanic or workshop is required for any warranty claim. This ensures that the unit was installed correctly and helps verify the cause of any future issue.

5. Warranty Claim Procedure

If you experience an issue with your purchased engine, gearbox, or auto part, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us immediately at info@fitengines.co.za.
  2. Provide your order number, purchase date, and description of the issue.
  3. Include photos or videos (if applicable) showing the defect.
  4. Provide a copy of your installation invoice from a certified mechanic.

Our technical team will review your claim within 3 to 5 business days and may request further inspection or testing before making a final decision.

6. Inspection & Testing

If required, the defective part must be returned to Fit Engines for inspection.

  • The product will be tested by our technical department to confirm the cause of failure.
  • If the fault is found to be manufacturing-related, we will provide a replacement unit, repair, or partial refund, depending on availability and assessment.
  • If the issue is found to be installation-related or due to misuse, the warranty will be void, and return shipping costs will be the customer’s responsibility.

7. Replacement & Repair Terms

  • Replacements are issued only after the defective product has been received and inspected.
  • If an identical replacement is unavailable, a similar or equivalent unit may be offered.
  • Repairs, where applicable, will be carried out using approved parts and qualified technicians.
  • Warranty replacements or repairs do not reset or extend the original warranty period.

8. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the correct part is purchased for their vehicle model.
  • Confirming compatibility before installation.
  • Following proper maintenance schedules, including oil and coolant changes.
  • Retaining proof of purchase and installation documentation for any future warranty claims.

9. Limitations of Liability

Fit Engines will not be held liable for:

  • Any consequential or indirect losses (e.g., labour, downtime, transport, or rental costs).
  • Vehicle damage resulting from improper installation or continued operation after detecting a problem.
Our obligation under this warranty is strictly limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the defective product.

10. Legal Rights

This warranty operates in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008) of South Africa. It does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
